Terrimbo is an idea born of friendship and sharing. Philippe Gard is well-known for producing exceptional wines, and Jacky Loos has been a winelover for many years. Over time they tasted, discussed and shared their ideas.
From this came a project to produce wines on the classic soils of Banyuls, and to work organically out of respect for man and nature. The new domaine is a small venture, working a few prime parcels of old vines to create vibrant dry wines in the Collioure appellation.
The vineyards of Collioure and Banyuls are extreme in many respects : the soil, the heat, the slopes and the tenacity of the withered vines. Below the tiny hamlet of Cosprons, a stone’s throw from the magical bay of Paulilles and the Mediterranean Sea, we have 1.5 hectares of vines on schist soils, facing south-east to capture the best sunshine.
Domaine Terrimbo was created to bottle this terroir, with a pure respect for nature. Our aim is to make complex and generous wines, worthy of this place and of respect for the area.
